How to Measure for your Custom Farm Table

Picture
Not sure what size Farm Table you need? Maybe the cute 5 Foot Farm Table pictured on the left (in our lovely and popular Toasted Tan color) might be too small? Hmmmm. Maybe you're not sure???

Well, here is an easy fix for that problem. Whether you purchase a custom Farm Table from us or not it will help you to make sure you get the right size dining table for you and your family.

Painter's Blue Tape. Any brand will do!

And, very importantly, here is a basic rule of thumb ... you need about 3 feet between your Farm Table and the wall or furniture. This will allow family and guests to be able to pull out their chairs and be seated comfortably. And, get up without banging the wall or furniture! :-)

Here are the easy to follow directions:

  1. Get some painter's blue tape. You know the kind from the big box store? It won't leave sticky residue on your hardwood floors or rug.
  2. Measure off the size you are considering. Let's say a 6 Foot long x 38" wide Farm Table. Make a square with the tape on the floor
  3. Set some chairs around it like you would a regular table (maybe about halfway over the tape). How about one chair on each end and two on each side.
  4. Leave it up for a few days. Walk around it and get used to it. How does it feel? Do you have enough room to pull the chairs in and out and to sit down and walk around the table?
  5. If it doesn't work, then change the measurements.
  6. It it does ... voila! You have a winner and you'll be pleased as punch with your new Farm Table!
